This summer, gymnastics was again one of the most-watched Olympics events. But there’s a secret history behind all those incredible flips that few people know about.
As we celebrated 77-year-old Russian gymnast Larisa Latynina, and her recently eclipsed 18 medals, we were also reminded of a time when gymnastics did not have the daring flips and twists we have grown so accustomed to. What few people realize is that these gravity-defying techniques introduced to gymnastics over the last decades have, in classical Chinese dance, a history of thousands of years.
Indeed, when audience members see our dancers—Angelia Wang, Jim Chen, Rocky Liao, and many others—fly across the stage, they often say things like: “I loved the acrobatics,” or “the flexibility reminded me of gymnastics.”
But these moves come from neither gymnastics nor acrobatics. They actually all originate from classical Chinese dance.
In October, the International Classical Chinese Dance Competition will offer an opportunity to see all these techniques up close. The competition will be followed by a special Shen Yun performance at the State Theater in New Brunswick, NJ.

The Last Journey: The sons of two victims of China’s first high-speed train crash prepare to bring their parents’ bodies home to New York. The family is locked in compensation negotiations with Chinese authorities.
SHANGHAI — Henry Cao has stark memories of the moment the high-speed train he was riding rear-ended another last summer in the eastern city of Wenzhou: the pleasantly hypnotic rocking that gave way to a jolt he likened to an earthquake, followed by blackness and the sensation of falling as the car plummeted 100 feet off a viaduct.
“We were flying like rag dolls,” he said.
The crash killed 40 passengers, injured 191 and shook the nation’s confidence in its ambitious high-speed rail system. Mr. Cao, 33, a Chinese-American importer from Colorado, barely survived; he lost a kidney and his spleen, and head injuries have left him mired in a perpetual daze, unable to stay awake for more than an hour or two. His parents, naturalized American citizens taking him on a triumphant tour of their native land, were killed.
As Mr. Cao has struggled to recover over the past year, he has found himself drained by a different sort of battle: trying to wrest compensation from the Ministry of Railways, an unbending government behemoth unaccustomed to dealing with determined foreign citizens.
This month Mr. Cao returned to China for the first time since the accident. He and his brother, Leo, came to collect their parents’ remains and to press negotiations with the ministry. “They know how to wear you down,” said Leo Cao, 30. “First they let you scream and yell, then they stall you, and finally they tell you vague and empty words. Now they say, ‘You’re lucky you’re getting anything.’ ”
Their painful and politically fraught odyssey has highlighted the workings of an omnipotent ministry that employs more than two million people and rivals the Chinese military in size and influence. The experience has been disorienting for the Cao brothers, who left China as adolescents two decades ago. “This place is not how I remember it,” said Henry Cao, speaking faintly as his eyes flickered and lost focus. “Everyone is rushing around to make money. Life here is cheap.”
The ministry, which runs its own court system and is largely impervious to oversight, has long been dogged by accusations of corruption. A former rails minister, Liu Zhijun, who was fired five months before the accident, is expected to go on trial next month for charges of taking millions of dollars in bribes and other unnamed “disciplinary violations.”
Zhang Kai, a lawyer who represented a passenger sentenced to three years in prison for slapping a train conductor, described the ministry as a “monster left over from the planned economy era” that resists reform or challenges to its authority. “It is common knowledge that the ministry is responsible for generating maximum profits while supervising itself,” Mr. Zhang said.
In a report released in December, government investigators placed the blame for the Wenzhou accident on flaws in signaling equipment. Investigators say the ministry bypassed safety regulations in its haste to create the world’s largest high-speed railroad network.
For the brothers’ parents — Cao Erxing and his wife, Chen Zengrong, both 56 — the return to China was a capstone to lives of toil in New York City sweatshops and restaurant kitchens. The father and mother, neither of whom studied beyond middle school, had left Fujian Province with their boys, taught themselves English and earned enough money to buy a house in Queens. At the time of their death, they were custodial workers at La Guardia Airport.
“They finally felt financially secure enough to take their first vacation,” Leo Cao said.
His father died at the scene, but his mother survived for two hours, leaving haunting unanswered questions. Did she receive adequate medical care? And who was heartless enough to swipe the $10,000 from the fanny pack fastened to her waist?
In the parlance of Communist Party euphemisms, July 23 has become a “sensitive anniversary” — a day for newspaper editors and columnists to ignore. After a blizzard of coverage in the days after the crash — including reports of a botched rescue and efforts to bury one of the train carriages — the censors blocked discussions of the topic on microblog services. Last month, victims’ families were warned against holding public memorials.
But the Cao brothers, ignoring such admonitions, have become thorns in the side of the government as they seek financial assistance.
In a series of meetings, ministry officials have offered them $280,000 for the death of their parents and $85,000 for Henry Cao’s injuries, the brothers said. The Caos have requested a total of $5 million, based on what they say the three would have earned over 20 years of working in the United States.
Their lawyers say the ministry is ignoring a national law that bases compensation on accident victims’ earning power in the area where they lived. The ministry is citing its own regulations that rely on prevailing wages in the province where the crash occurred.
“The representatives tell us there is no room for negotiation,” said a lawyer for the brothers, Tian Jie. “Even they admit they don’t know who makes the decisions.”
Officials did not respond to a faxed request for comment, and repeated telephone calls to the ministry’s office of public information last week were not answered.
Leo Cao said that his brother was too disabled to work and that the offered compensation would not go very far in supporting his four young children and paying for his medical expenses. “From the outside, my brother looks somewhat normal, but he’s half the man he used to be,” he said.
The ministry’s minders stay in the same hotel as the brothers, paying for their accommodations and carrying their luggage. But they frequently call to find out where the brothers are. Negotiators have warned of “troubles” that might result from talking to journalists.
This month, as the brothers wept over their parents’ coffins at a funeral home in Wenzhou, ministry employees huddled awkwardly. “If they lose track of us they get scolded,” Leo Cao later said with weary resignation.
In the hours after the accident, ministry negotiators descended on morgues and hospitals even before the surgeons had finished stitching up the injured. Working in teams of four or five, they separated victims’ families into different hotels and relentlessly hammered out deals that in the end were nearly the same: about $140,000 for each fatality.
For the past year, the Cao brothers have angered officials by refusing to remove their parents’ bodies from the morgue. Leo Cao, who was completing a doctorate in information sciences at the time of the crash, said he had been partly overwhelmed by the medical needs of his brother.
But he also came to hope the delay might help persuade the ministry to compromise, and also allow a funeral service in the family’s ancestral Fujianese village. Officials refused, perhaps fearful it would draw other disgruntled survivors.
Still, the brothers held a makeshift memorial service at the funeral home and then stopped at the site of the crash. Last Wednesday, they arranged for the bodies to be shipped to New York. The funeral, scheduled for Saturday in Queens, is expected to draw hundreds of Fujianese immigrants.
As the talks dragged on, Henry Cao became increasingly withdrawn, saying he was no longer interested in the money and wanted only to return home. He spent most of his last days in China in his hotel room, reading biblical stories that touch on suffering and redemption. “I want to move on,” he said, staring at the floor.
But for now, his brother is determined to keep fighting and says he is prepared to file a lawsuit in Chinese court, even though several lawyers have advised him it would be futile. “It’s not only about money,” Leo Cao said. “I want justice.”
Among the hundreds of photographs recovered from their father’s iPhone from his first and final vacation in China, one image stands out: a shaky snapshot of the LED monitor that graced the carriage of their train boasting that it was moving at 303 kilometers an hour, or 188 m.p.h.
“My father was so proud of China’s progress,” Leo Cao said. “Unfortunately it was China’s progress that killed my parents.”

Yesterday a meeting was held in CCTV, confirming that they’ve already knew Liu’s severe injury before the game. Yang Jian even made four commentary plans. He commentated the game with tears was accused of faking and performing by netizens.

People point out that Liu Xiang was faking the fall because he kissed the wrong hurdle of his athletic track afterwards and he was shown being instructed by leaders before going to the track by a foreign cable network.

When Liu fell on the first hurdle, Yang quickly changed his tone and continued with a sad voice: “29 years old athlete, it’s time for him to take a rest. This is the worst result that I can imagine today. An athlete without fine legs is like a soldier without a gun.”
When asked about his tears, Yang said He didn’t know where the tears came from. He even didn’t remember what he said during that time, because the tears just went out naturally and that is the real feeling that he got.

Looking at the area where the bridge fractured in the video, you can see that the steel reinforcing bar and cement at where the bridge deck and the bridge pillars are extremely substandard! I can responsibly say this bridge definitely had construction quality problems!!! The construction cost of this bridge could not have exceeded 1 billion! It was subcontracted at least 4-5 times!

Of all the policies invoked by China since the Communist take-over in 1949, none have caused as much grief inside the country as the one-child-per-family dictum. At one point modern China’s founder, Mao Zedong, encouraged families to have as many children as possible as a way to build prosperity, to make China an international force, and to ensure that in old age parents would be looked after by their kids.
The realization that more people did not necessarily increase prosperity, but if fact guaranteed more poverty, resulted in family planning with Draconian resolve. USA Today recently had an in-depth report on China’s one-child enforcement measures that include kidnapping and forcing abortions. These are beyond the imagination of western cultures, but are in accordance with China’s view of reality.
As brutal as some Chinese measures seem to us, they blend with the Chinese regime’s creed that anything — literally anything — is acceptable if it advances Beijing’s interests. And one-child families are a cornerstone to the country’s ambitions. International awareness has forced discretion on some of China’s actions.
Still, a Communist party functionary describes how pregnant women are kidnapped for a short period, and injected with something that forces a miscarriage. In rural areas, two children are permitted, but if a third child is conceived the parents are allowed to keep it only if they pay the equivalent of about $8,600 for the privilege — payable prior to the birth.
Even at eight months pregnant, abortions are induced.
From various reports, it seems that there’s growing unease among the Chinese leadership about the one-child policy that the people of China oppose, but have to endure. Beijing propaganda claims its “benevolent” policy has prevented 400 million births over the last 30 years.
One reasons why the one-child per family is likely to remain in place is that China’s family planning bureaucracy is so large, that to dismantle it would result in huge unemployment. And like bureaucracies everywhere, they fight tooth-and-nail to survive. Another reason is that the fees for having an extra child run to something like $3 billion a year — with unknown amounts winding up in the pockets of administrators. So the drum beat of forced abortions is likely to continue.
Ironically, there are also reports of China encouraging births in some areas to produce children for sale to foreigners — sort of human puppy-mills. This seems bizarre, but with the Chinese you never know. The Chinese execute more people than any other country in the world, with some 55 crimes designated for the death penalty. What is well-established is that some prisoners on death row are kept around until there’s a demand for a heart, lung, liver, cornea or whatever, and then the execution takes place so the customer get a fresh body part.
Macabre enough with criminals, but there are also reports of Falun Gong dissidents being imprisoned until their body parts can be sold.
Former cabinet minister David Kilgour and Winnipeg human rights lawyer David Matas have relentlessly investigated China’s organ “harvesting” program. Their report concludes: “There has been, and continues today to be, large-scale organ seizures from unwilling Falun Gong practitioners.” This is denied by Beijing, despite first-hand evidence to the contrary.
Falun Gong is a discipline that combines meditation, gentle exercising, truthfulness, compassion and tolerance to gain spiritual enlightenment. Until it was repressed, Falun Gong was becoming more popularity in China than the Communist Party — something intolerable for Beijing.

大纪元成立这十多年来，一直经常受到中共的骇客攻击，大纪元技术部熊先生曾表示，几乎每天都有小的骚扰，但近期攻击尤其厉害，越来越疯狂和猛烈。
自从王立军事件以来，大纪元揭示了王立军出逃美国领馆的真相，并曝光了谷开来、薄熙来等一批江派人马的真实及丑恶面目，引发中南海海啸，导致中共面临政局崩溃，而大纪元相关真相报导令中共极度惊恐和惧怕。
在此背景下，近半年来，大纪元网站不断地受到黑客攻击。不过，大纪元编辑部负责人再次表示，无论中共骇客如何攻击，都丝毫动摇不了大纪元报导真相、传播真相的理念和行动，各界读者对大纪元的持续关注就是对中共流氓行径的最好反击。
大纪元揭示薄谷开来谋杀海伍德的真正原因
8月20日，全球关注的薄谷开来一案中，谷被判死缓，法院称其理由是：海伍德使用了威胁语言；其二、谷开来患有精神障碍；第三、谷开来有揭发他人违法行为；而对于认罪、悔罪，只排在了最后一位。
然而，大纪元此前获独家消息，谷开来是中共活摘器官的主谋，在她和薄熙来的指挥下，大连是最早活摘法轮功学员器官的地方，谷开来不但靠出卖器官赚钱，还贩卖法轮功学员的尸体谋取暴利，被称为“十恶不赦的恶魔”。
大纪元获悉，谷开来是活摘器官、贩卖尸体的主谋，她和薄熙来在大连最早开始活摘器官卖钱。另外，谷开来和海伍德在英国开了家合资公司，专门负责把器官和尸体卖到海外。当发现海伍德和他们离心离德之后，在薄的授意下，由谷开来和张晓军出面毒死了海伍德。
大纪元报导了王立军出逃美国领馆的根本原因是为保命，他要不逃出来，就死在谷开来和薄熙来手上。王立军2月6日交给美国使馆的材料涉及薄、谷两人活摘器官、贩卖尸体的罪行，这也是薄熙来、谷开来最想隐瞒的，也是杀死海伍德真正的原因。
大陆网民在微博及论坛中风传薄谷案内幕 大陆媒体跟进
由于大纪元对薄谷开来杀人灭口案内幕的披露，引起中国大陆网站、媒体、博客、微博等的高度关注，中国民众非常震惊，一直跟踪此新闻，发起调查。
8月11日四川思肯投资机构董事长、思肯私募股权基金经理邓君汉在微博上以题《大连尸体加工厂黑幕》发微博说，那夫妇俩（薄熙来、谷开来夫妇）罪恶再曝光：2003年大连就成为全球最大的人体标本基地，供世界各地展览或拍卖获暴利。相信真相会慢慢浮出水面。微博上有很多类似的话题，引起不断的探讨和议论。
而海外一家经营尸体展的公司网站的免责声明称，本展览全身尸体及人体各部位、器官、胎儿和胚胎来自中国公民或居民的尸体。这些中国公民或居民的遗骸来自中国警方，也引起很多人关注和呼吁：“要求公安部做出正式回应！”
而《天涯杂谈》“民间语文第78期”“我们必须驱逐哈根斯”最近也成24小时热帖，引起热议。
8月16日《财经中国》首度打破媒体沉默，报导了近日微博上大陆民众对哈根斯掀起一浪接一浪声讨声。明确点出几个关键：“哈根斯的真尸标本到底是怎么来的？这个企业是如何被大连授予高新企业的？真尸展览背后是否会形成一条恐怖的利益链？”
甚至就在对薄谷来开庭宣判的同一天，一名大连美女“素颜格格”冒着危险，前去大连的尸体加工厂之一的哈根斯一探究竟，拍照被人狂追。
她在博客上披露：在当地探听到，这家德国人工厂从去年6月份倒闭整一年，据说是德国老板跑了，后来这里就天天有工人闹事要薪水，几个月根本找不到人。一直到去年11月，忽然一天晚上，来了一群人，给了所有工人的工资，连补偿都很丰厚，有的工资开到10月份。一夜之间全部被遣散，而后留下几个工人装车，仅仅用了两个晚上，这里面就全部搬空。“后来又开始找人消除这里的痕迹，地下冷库什么的都被砸烂。”
例如《南方都市报》8月22日发表题为“‘尸体工厂’争议调查”的文章，报导大连市高新园区七贤岭产业化基地高能街27号，两栋看上去毫不起眼的厂房，被疯长的杂草包围。原主人哈根斯已离去，到处都一片狼藉，大门上贴着“2012年2月29日封”的封条……留下一个个谜团。
薄熙来从最早任大连市长时，为迎合江泽民镇压法轮功的政策，大量接收在北京上访而被扣押遭遣返的法轮功学员，成千上万法轮功学员成为天然人体器官库，薄谷开来联合英国人海伍德，利用其熟悉国际贸易、法律运作的特点，在国际上利用黑道非法贩卖器官、尸体。这就是薄谷开来案背后的惊人黑幕。
遭中共骇客攻击 大纪元不懈传播真相
而大纪元因为不断报导被中共大量隐瞒的真相，得到读者的赞誉和支持。根据网络流量统计公司Alexa的排名，大纪元已是海外中文媒体访问量最大的，而且跟一些中文媒体的差距正越拉越大。
不少读者给大纪元编辑部写信，赞誉大纪元在重庆事件触发中共面临分崩的事件上的报导最具洞察力，真相震撼人心，并认为大纪元已经成为报导这次中共高层内讧、中国最新政局等新闻的领军媒体。
大纪元总裁唐忠曾表示：大纪元记录了所有攻击大纪元网站的骇客资料，并会报案给美国FBI等相关部门，一定会追查到底。他还表示，中共崩溃在即，希望网络上参与攻击的机构和个人认清局势，看清薄熙来、王立军的悲剧本质，也给自己留条后路。

The Epoch Times Chinese website has been repeatedly attacked over the last week by hackers based in China, according to the company’s technical personnel. The reason for the attacks appears to be the newspaper’s close reporting on the concealed misdeeds of Bo Xilai and his wife Gu Kailai, who was recently given a suspended death sentence for a single murder.
The newspaper’s reporting over the last several weeks throws into question the Chinese regime’s tidy narrative presented at the recent trial—that Gu killed only the British businessman Neil Heywood—and says that, according to sources, Gu and Bo Xilai were involved in the harvesting of organs from Falun Gong prisoners of conscience, and also the sale of the corpses of executed Falun Gong practitioners to plastination factories primarily in the northeastern city in Dalian, where Bo was mayor from 1993 to 2001.
“We’ve been changing people’s focus from the surface details of the trial process, and explaining the dark background of Gu and Bo,” says Zhang Tianliang, a columnist for The Epoch Times and a commentator on Chinese politics.
“The Communist Party has no legitimacy, so when we report on the internal matters of this mafia organization, it’s serious for them,” he said. “The Epoch Times is reporting the truth about the behind-the-curtain actions of the CCP, and this is very scary to them.”
Mr. Xiong, a member of The Epoch Times’ technical team, said that attacks have happened daily since around Aug. 20, the date that Gu’s sentence for murder was handed down. He said that some of the IP, or Internet Protocol, addresses of the attackers have been from China. The attacks have grown in frequency and scale since then, he said in a telephone interview. The Epoch Times has a standing policy of protecting the identity of its technical staff that have in the past been targeted by agents of the Chinese regime, even when stationed in the United States.
The former chief technical officer of the paper, Peter Yuan Li, was assailed by unidentified men in his Atlanta home in 2006. Three armed Chinese men charged into his home, bundled him up in a quilt, and repeatedly struck him in the temple with a blunt metal object, before stealing his laptop computers and leaving all other valuables.
Since Bo Xilai’s former right-hand man Wang Lijun fled on Feb. 6 to the U.S. Consulate in Chengdu in southwest China’s Sichuan Province, the regime has had to deal with a cascade of highly sensitive events: the purging of Wang Lijun, the removal of Bo Xilai from his Party posts and being investigated, stripping power from domestic security czar Zhou Yongkang, the reconfiguration of the leadership of the security forces, and the trial of Gu Kailai.

The Epoch Times has reported on these events and on what lies behind them: how Wang’s attempted defection exposed a battle for control of the Party and the crimes that made that battle necessary.
The Epoch Times and dissident website Boxun reported that Wang told the U.S. Consulate staff of a plan by Bo Xilai and Zhou Yongkang to stage a coup after Xi Jinping became head of the CCP. Bill Gertz of the Washington Free Beacon reported that the intelligence Wang gave the United States supported the claims of some U.S. officials that hard-line Chinese nationalists were seeking power.
The Epoch Times also reported on how the Bo-Zhou plot was a desperate attempt not to be held accountable for the crimes they had committed in the persecution of the spiritual group Falun Gong.
Forced live organ harvesting was the most severe of these crimes. Wang was himself responsible for harvesting the organs of thousands and is believed to have implicated Bo and Gu in these atrocities in the information he gave the U.S. Consulate.
A source told The Epoch Times that Bo and Gu were responsible for forced live organ harvesting and for the provision of bodies to factories for plastination—the process of injecting a corpse with polymers to preserve a specimen capable of being exhibited.
The same source also told The Epoch Times that Gu murdered Heywood because he had begun talking about his involvement with her in forced live organ harvesting and the selling of corpses.
The reaction from the Chinese blogosphere was swift, with the news quickly quoted, retweeted, and blogged about. Often some of the most sensitive information—such as the identities of the sources of the bodies—was obscured so as to circumvent the Chinese regime’s army of Internet censors.
“The CCP is scared of people finding out about this, but this is the information that Chinese people want to find out about most,” said Zhang of the newspaper’s reporting.
Mr. Xiong said that the attacks resulted in occasional interruption of service, but that the technical team was mostly able to repel them.
The chief executive officer of The Epoch Times, John Tang, said that no amount of attempted hacking by the Chinese regime would deter the newspaper’s reporting. Tang said the attacks demonstrated the Party’s deep unease with the paper’s reportage, while demonstrating its impact and accuracy. He said that technical information collected from the attempted hacking will be submitted to the FBI.
“The Epoch Times is reporting the truth about the behind-the-curtain actions of the CCP, and this is very scary to them,” Zhang Tianliang said.
If the reports of the involvement of high-level Party officials in the harvesting of organs from tens of thousands of living prisoners of conscience were widely known inside and outside China, Zhang said, “because of the blow it would strike to the regime’s legitimacy, the Party would be finished.”
